Skin peels at Harley Street
Two doctor-led peels, no needles: the Glass Skin Brightening Peel for a quick glow with little downtime, or The Perfect Peel for pigmentation, acne marks and texture.
What it is
A peel applies carefully chosen ingredients to the skin to remove dull surface cells and encourage fresher skin underneath. I offer two peels with very different strengths, and we choose between them at your consultation based on your skin, your goals and how much downtime you can have.
Glass Skin Brightening Peel (Exonad): gentle, no needles, little downtime
Our glass skin peel uses Exonad, a three-step 'skin longevity' peel from Promoitalia. There are no needles involved. A light glycolic peel is followed by a soothing pH-balancing step and a serum with NAD+ and peptides. It aims to refresh tone, texture and glow with little or no visible peeling, so it suits a first peel or a pre-event refresh. Usually best as a course of 3, a few weeks apart.
The Perfect Peel: deeper, for pigmentation and acne marks
A medium-depth medical peel that combines several acids with glutathione, an antioxidant. It is used for pigmentation, sun damage, acne marks, uneven texture and fine lines. Expect redness for a day or two and visible peeling from around day 3, usually settling by day 7. You'll take home an aftercare pack. Often repeated 2 to 3 times, about 4 weeks apart, for stubborn concerns.
Who it may suit
- Dull or uneven skin tone
- Pigmentation or sun damage
- Acne marks and rough texture
- A pre-event glow (Glass Skin Brightening Peel)
Part of the 360° Approach
I'll consider this treatment as part of a plan for your whole face, so it's balanced with everything else and you only have what you need.
Risks and aftercare
Common: stinging during the peel, redness, dryness and flaking. Uncommon: prolonged redness, cold-sore flare-ups, or darker or lighter patches of skin, which is more likely in darker skin types and with sun exposure. Not suitable in pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active cold sores or broken skin, or within some months of taking isotretinoin. All risks are discussed at consultation.
Questions
Is it painful?
Most people find it very manageable. Numbing cream or anaesthetic is used where suitable.
Can I have treatment on the day of my consultation?
Usually you'll have time to think about your plan first. If you've already had full information and want to go ahead, we can discuss it.
Who can't have this treatment?
It isn't suitable in pregnancy or breastfeeding, for under-18s, or with some medical conditions and medicines. I check this at consultation.
